Alma graduated from U of A in 2000, and since then, she has spent most of that time working in Fort McMurray. Her focus there has consisted of school based pediatrics, and musculoskeletal clinical work. She has recently relocated to Edmonton where she is excited to extend her career and skills as a physiotherapist.

Alma believes that physiotherapy should encompass the person as a whole and that when guiding a person though their journey of recovery, it is not just about physical rehabilitation. Psychological, emotional, social, and environmental factors are just some of the other things she takes into consideration when working with her clients. She prefers to treat with with hands on therapy and exercise, with minimal to no use of machines or modalities, and a large focus on education to empower the client in becoming more independent with their own recovery, long term self management and injury prevention. The one on one model of Catalyst Physio provides her with the opportunity to devote full attention to her clients, to understand their specific goals and concerns, develop a trusting and collaborative relationship and provide them with the care that they deserve.

From babies to seniors, and all ages in between, she is a believer that movement and physical activity is key to physical and psychological wellbeing. This is evident in her clinical practice as she encourages her clients to be active, and also in her own lifestyle. She grew up doing gymnastics, and now as a competitive ninja athlete, you can often find her swinging, jumping or climbing on something. She also enjoys bouldering and running, or going to the mountains to hike, climb or ski.
